Baylor University operates a Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) to protect the rights and welfare of individuals who volunteer to participate in the research mission of Baylor. While the ultimate responsibility for the treatment of all human subjects in research rests with the individual researcher (faculty, students, or staff) who has been given the privilege to conduct research with humans, the IRB exists as a safeguard to promote the ethical and responsible treatment of human subjects in research, by conducting an ethical review of research studies while providing education and guidance for the research community.

A Land Acknowledgment is a traditional custom that dates back centuries in many Native Nations and communities. Today, land acknowledgments are used by Native Peoples and non-Natives to recognize Indigenous Peoples who are the original stewards of the lands on which we now live. At the beginning of ceremonies, lectures, or public events at Baylor University, an organization or speaker may offer this acknowledgment on behalf of everyone present. Baylor University’s Land Acknowledgment provides a framework for today’s work with Native Nations and Indigenous Communities. 

The United States Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (USAGPAN) educates and prepares individuals to become independent Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). Upon graduation, ARMY CRNAs will serve for five years with the option to stay in and continue to serve while increasing rank and salary as well as function as respected members of the military healthcare team. Army and Veteran’s Administration (VA) CRNAs provide full-spectrum anesthesia at Army and VA hospitals across the continental United States, Hawaii, Europe, Korea, and anywhere in the world they are needed.

The Beall-Russell Lectures in the Humanities were established in 1982 with a financial gift from Virginia B. Ball of Muncie, Ind. She named the lecture series in honor of her mother, Mrs. John A. Beall, and Lily Russell, former dean of women at Baylor, both Baylor alumnae of the Class of 1910.

Healthcare administrators are an integral component of the management of medical organizations ranging from hospitals, nursing homes, medical insurance companies, provider networks, to government policy organizations. Health programs are complex and varied and command a huge portion of the Gross Domestic Product of this country and much of the world. Knowledge combined with the ability to manage such complex and diverse organizations is essential in today's world. The Healthcare Administration specialization within the MBA program consists of six courses plus a residency, allowing students to apply classroom skills in progressive medical organizational settings. The practicum coupled with field excursions will assist students in gaining a first hand introduction to the medical administration environment in local health organizations. The seven-month residency will be tailored to individual student interests and will be located in some of the finest health organizations in Texas and the country.

Assist students in obtaining quality psychological services and counseling appropriate to their needs, including individual and group therapy and assessment services.

This major teaches students about issues that affect individuals, families, and communities with special attention to issues that relate to the basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, and relationships. Students examine personal and family life across the life span as they merge the challenges of living and working in a diverse, global society.

The Liaison Services department helps clients by answering factual questions, assisting with search strategies, providing individual and group instruction on library resources, preparing research guides, and more.

The mission of the Nutrition Sciences Didactic Program at Baylor University is to provide a high-quality general dietetic education in a Christian environment, equipping graduates to be qualified to enter an accredited dietetic internship program necessary to become Registered Dietitians. Graduates will be prepared to work in a variety of positions that address the food, nutritional and health needs of families, individuals and communities in local and global environments.

The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council has developed a set of financial and information technology standards, called Payment Card Information Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS), to protect credit cardholders' data. These standards govern all merchants and organizations that collect, process, store, or transmit credit card information.

A degree in accounting prepares you for a variety of careers. Many people choose to enter public accounting as either an auditor or tax consultant. These positions are available in firms of all sizes - from large multinational firms to small local firms. Others choose to enter industry and work as general accountants, controllers, treasurers, tax managers, or internal auditors. Governmental agencies employ a number of accountants at the local, state, and federal levels. Over 30 employers currently recruit Baylor accounting majors.

US Army-Baylor University Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy Our top-ranked physical therapy doctoral program recruits and selects highly-qualified individuals from the civilian sector to join the military and become officers in the US Army or the US Navy. Our program also selects applicants from within the active duty and reserve forces to transfer into our program from other military occupational specialties. Following basic officer initial entry training, these officers engage in 30 months of entry-level physical therapy training to receive the doctorate of physical therapy degree (DPT). Upon graduation, our graduates are well-prepared to serve in two unique professions - as an active-duty officer and as a military physical therapist.

Essentially BEST is an accelerated strategic management course for academically excellent students. The unique two-semester program provides highly motivated students an opportunity to enhance their professional skills through a combination of teamwork, innovative learning methods, field cases, and international exposure. The class is structured around nine committees that are coordinated by two student CEOs. This structure is conducive to building team skills and maximizing the productive capacities of individuals. BEST, as its name signifies, is comprised of four components: Business, Excellence, Scholarship, and Team.

Ellucian Banner is a higher education industry-standard enterprise resource planning and student information system. Baylor currently uses Ellucian Banner as its student information system.

The BRIC is a unique, fully appointed research environment where scientists and engineers collaborate with industry, business, and workforce development professionals to bring new ideas and products to life. Additionally, area students and the Greater Waco community can, through educational outreach, share the excitement of scientific discovery.

Classes will be held in conjunction with the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, a large public university of about 20,000 students. Most of the students come from Mendoza or surrounding provinces. Students register for six hours of credit from UNC and six hours of independent study credit with professors from Baylor University (work done in Mendoza under the supervision of Baylor professors).

Linguistics is the scientific study of language. Instead of trying to learn individual languages, linguists want to know how language works. Where did language come from? How are languages developing? How does language affect the way we think, the way we interact, and our cultural identity? What are the mental processes involved in understanding, producing, and acquiring language? The Ombuds is independent of the university's formal administrative structure and strives to consider all sides of an issue in an impartial and objective manner.
