WACO, Texas (March 29, 2019) – This week, Baylor University will host a variety of events such as the Beall Poetry Festival, the Northcutt Lecture, a meet-and-greet in the department of aviation sciences and the Baylor Theatre production of the play Mnemonic.

SUNDAY, March 31

Chamber Singers - Baylor University’s Chamber Singers will present its spring concert, “Liederabend,” at 3 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 101 Baylor Ave. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the School of Music website.

MONDAY, April 1

Chapel Highlights - Jennie Allen, founder of IF: Gathering, will speak during Chapel at 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m. in Waco Hall, 624 Speight Ave. For more information, visit the Spiritual Life website.
Movie Mondays - Movie Mondays will host a screening of “Modern Day Miracles,” a documentary about doctors, nurses, custodial staff and spiritual staff restoring broken bodies. The screening will be at 7 p.m. at the Waco Hippodrome, 724 Austin Ave. Free tickets can be picked up at the Bill Daniel Student Center ticket office or online.

TUESDAY, April 2

World Cinema Series - The department of modern languages and cultures will continue its World Cinema Series with “Les intouchables (The Intouchables).” The film is in French and shown with English subtitles. Northcutt Lecture - Rev. Constance Cherry, D.Min., professor of Christian worship and pastoral ministry at Indiana Wesleyan University, will present “Vetting a Canon of Congregational Song: Keeping It Honest, Making it Whole” at the 33rd annual Northcutt Lecture at 4 p.m. in the McLean Foyer of Meditation of Armstrong Browning Library, 710 Speight Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Mnemonic - Baylor Theatre will present Mnemonic, a play that presents images of memory, identity, humanity and history as characters try to understand who they are, where they came from and how they are interconnected.
