BU Offers Business Students Intranet Access to the Wall Street Journal Online

The Wall Street Journal announced that more than 3,000 graduate and undergraduate students at Baylor UniversityÆs Hankamer School of Business now have direct access to The Wall Street Journal Online at WSJ.com through the schoolÆs intranet. Baylor is one of the first academic institutions to implement intranet-based access to the Online Journal through a recently launched Journal-in-Education service.

Although students do not need to register, they will still have access to all of the Online JournalÆs regular personalization features, including company and industry tracking, e-mail alerts, portfolio and interactive tools, and special reports with interactive graphics.

ôThe Wall Street Journal is a fundamental resource in preparing future business leaders, and so weÆre pleased to be an innovator in offering integrated access to the Online Journal as part of BaylorÆs business school curriculum,ö said Elizabeth Davis, associate dean for undergraduate business programs, Hankamer School of Business, Baylor University.

ôThe Journal-in-Education program strives to provide students with the tools to be successful in class and in their careers,ö said Cindy Cortina, director of education marketing and sales of The Wall Street Journal. ôAs a result, we are pleased to offer Baylor University students easy access to a vital news source and look forward to partnering with other leading business schools to provide the same technology.ö

For more than 50 years, professors around the country have used The Wall Street JournalÆs content and teaching tools in their classrooms to connect their lessons to current events in business. Currently, more than 15,000 professors at 3,000 colleges and universities participate in the Journal-in-Education program. Additionally, more than 20 institutions, like Baylor, provide the print and online Journal to all business school students through The JournalÆs Academic Partnership Program, enabling integration into all business courses.
