Types of Application Deadlines

Early Action and Single Choice Early Action allow students to receive an admission decision earlier than their peers who apply Regular Admission. Once accepted, students can pay the enrollment deposit and select their housing preferences. (Assignments are made based on deposit date, so it's beneficial to deposit early.)

For more information, see the Key Documents Chart.

Early Action

The Early Action deadline is designed for students who want to complete the admissions process early in their senior year. Applying Early Action does not restrict a student from applying to other schools or for scholarships and financial aid.

Early Action applicants must submit their application and supporting materials by November 1. They will receive an admission decision by January 15 and, if accepted, have until May 1 to make their final decision. If a student is not admitted in the Early Action pool, Baylor may ask for further supporting materials and/or reconsider the application for Regular Admission.

Single Choice Early Action

The Single Choice Early Action (SCEA) deadline is for students who want to complete the admissions process early in their senior year and also let Baylor know that Baylor is currently their first choice institution. Students pursuing this admission route must complete Baylor's online application available through goBAYLOR and are required to submit the short answer responses through goBAYLOR.

By applying SCEA, students agree to not apply to any other schools early (either through early decision or early action). Students may still apply to other institutions that have a rolling decision admission process and/or a regular decision admission process.

SCEA applicants must submit their application and supporting materials by November 1. They will receive an admission decision by December 1 and, if accepted, have until May 1 to make their final decision. If a student is not admitted in the SCEA pool, Baylor may ask for further supporting materials and/or reconsider the application for Regular Admission.

Regular Admission

Students who are interested in attending Baylor should plan to apply no later than the February 1 Regular Admission deadline. Any admission applications received after February 1 will be considered for admissions, campus housing and academic scholarships depending on available space and funding.

Regular Admission applicants must submit their application and supporting materials by February 1. They will receive an admission decision by March 15 and, if accepted, have until May 1 to make their final decision.
