Baylor2 Medical Track Program

The Baylor2 Medical Track Program is a combined 8-year baccalaureate/MD program for high-achieving students.

Baylor University and Baylor College of Medicine grant six outstanding high school students provisional acceptance to Baylor College of Medicine upon matriculation to Baylor University. One of the six students selected receives a scholarship valued at $80,000. It includes $10,000 per year for four years of undergraduate study at Baylor University and four additional years of medical study at Baylor College of Medicine. The other five students receive a scholarship valued at $8,000 covering $2,000 per year for four years of undergraduate study at Baylor University.

Interested students should to apply for the program. Finalists are selected to attend a campus event to compete for a spot in the program.

Who Should Apply

The Baylor2 Medical Track Program is designed for high-achieving high school seniors who:

  • Have scored 1420/1470 (old/new) or above on the SAT (math & critical reading in one sitting) or a 32 or above composite on the ACT (in one sitting).
  • Rank in the top 5% of their high school graduating class or possess a minimum 3.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Requirements for Consideration

Students interested in applying for the Baylor2 Medical Track Program should follow these steps:
  1. Submit a completed admission file to Baylor University by November 1 and select "pre-med" as your desired pre-professional track on the application. Your goBAYLOR account will show you what is needed to complete your application file. You must complete your file by the November 1 deadline to qualify for the Interview Day.

  2. Submit the Baylor2 Medical Track Program application by September 26 (9:00 a.m. CST) for the November event and December 5 (9:00 a.m. CST) for the January event.

  3. Email your résumé as an attachment to b2b@baylor.edu. Make the subject line "Medical." Be sure to save the file with your name.

Requirements During Undergraduate Program

While at Baylor, students selected for the Baylor2 Medical Track Program must maintain an overall and science GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. They are also required to participate in all traditional pre-med coursework at Baylor. Additionally, these selected students will be required to take the MCAT and score in the range of 500-507 with no section less than 125 in order to matriculate to Baylor College of Medicine upon graduation from Baylor University.

The Schedule

You can expect to be on campus from about 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You will:

  • Tour campus
  • Learn about life as a pre-med student at Baylor
  • Learn about financial aid

How You'll Be Notified

A committee will select finalists for the program. These candidates will be invited to campus. If selected to attend the campus event, you will be asked to complete a registration form by the date below. Please do not make travel arrangements until you receive a formal confirmation email.
