Physical Education

The Physical Education major is designed to prepare students for teaching or coaching grades K-12. This degree program satisfies the requirements for the Texas teachers Certification, enabling more qualified students to enter the workforce. Available courses include:

  • Health and Human Behavior
  • Exercise and Sport Nutrition
  • Techniques of Strength Training and Conditioning
  • Sports Psychology
  • Successful Coaching

The Baylor Education program offers a unique opportunity for students wishing to teach upon graduation. Beginning freshman year, all teaching majors have several internships in different schools in Waco. This hands-on experience not only puts theories into practice, it sets Baylor students apart from other candidates in the field, as Baylor requires more in classroom hours than most standard education programs.

International experiences are available to candidates in the School of Education in order to assist them in the understanding of and participation in a global society. The programs are offered in England, Australia, Costa Rica and Hong Kong, and vary from four weeks to a full year, depending on the preference and needs of the students. For more information about the opportunities within the School of Education, visit the International Opportunities website.
