Job Placement

The Department of Museum Studies at Baylor prepares students for employment in museums of all sorts and sizes. Our graduates are regularly hired for entry-level jobs at a variety of museums in Texas and across the country. The master's degree is the highest degree in Museum Studies; however, anyone considering graduate work in this area should be aware that further academic work may be needed to rise to senior positions. This is true especially in large urban art museums, but also some museums of history and science.

Jobs secured by undergraduates with a major or minor since 2000:

Baylor undergraduates with museum studies training have gone on to other excellent grad schools, such as the Public History program at the University of South Carolina, the museum studies program at George Washington University, and the Museum Studies Program at the University of Leicester.
