WACO, Texas (July 26, 2021) - TxDOT is working to reconstruct and remove the overpass at the Union Pacific Railroad north of McLane Stadium. Crews plan to close the northbound I-35 entrance ramp north of MLK Boulevard, beginning Friday, July 30, at 6 a.m. for up to one year.

In preparation for the long-term closure, the entrance ramp will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., beginning tonight, Monday, July 26, to Friday, July 30. This also will mean some overnight closures to northbound I-35 mainlanes near campus.

A temporary ramp to enter the northbound I-35 mainlanes will be constructed north of Forrest Street and open to traffic by 6 a.m. Friday, July 30. To construct the temporary ramp, northbound I-35 will be reduced to one lane from MLK Boulevard to BUS 77 overnight tonight (Monday, July 26), through Friday, July 30, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Crews also will close the northbound I-35 exit for BUS 77 (Exit 337A) beginning tonight (Monday, July 26) at 7 p.m. for up to one year.

Drivers who need to access BUS 77 will be directed to the exit for US 84/Waco Drive (Exit 338A) where they can turn around using the new turnaround at US 84/Waco Drive to access BUS 77.
