Mark Newton’s second child, a son, was born in 1997, exactly 100 years after renowned Texas pastor George W. Truett – namesake of Baylor’s Truett Seminary – graduated from Baylor University.

A lot has changed since 1958. Consider: The Beatles were still known as the Quarrymen, and it was the first year in which more people crossed the Atlantic by air than by sea. One thing that hasn’t changed since then, however, is Dr. Roger Kirk at Baylor University.
