To minor in Public Relations, students must complete 18 hours of study within in the Journalism department. Often students are introduced to Public Relations through their required Journalism courses and then decide to minor in Public Relations to further their study of the field.
Most degree programs at Baylor do not require a student to select a minor area of study. Students may choose to minor in a field that supplements their major. Or, they may choose to pursue an area of interest completely outside their major. For example, a Communications major may choose to minor in Public Relations to supplement their major.
Courses a student might take include Advertising Copywriting, Public Relations for Non-Profit Organizations, or Principles of Advertising and Public Relations.
