The Museum Studies minor requires students to complete 18 hours of study. It also includes 12 hours of upper-level courses. This minor provides students with an introduction to the museum field and profession, and it introduces the study of artifacts and things of historical significance.
Most degree programs at Baylor do not require a student to select a minor area of study. Students may choose to minor in a field that supplements their major. Or, they may choose to pursue an area of academic interest completely outside their major. For example, a history major with an interest in museum curation may minor in Museum Studies.
Courses a student might take include Introduction to Collections Management, Exhibit Design, or American Material Culture.
