The Recreation and Leisure Services major is for students who want to work in recreation. The general RLS degree provides the foundation for almost any recreation field. Available courses include:
All students must complete a full-time internship with a leisure service agency. The internship must involve application of major courses in day-to-day operations and a project. Graduates can expect to find many opportunities in church, industrial or corporate recreation. Other opportunities include private club recreation and military recreation in addition to shipboard recreation, youth serving agencies, camps, and more.
Baylor offers an Outdoor Adventure Living-Learning Center, which is well-suited for Recreation and Leisure Services majors. Living-Learning Centers are housing opportunities designed to place students of common interests together.
