8. Days and Times Required: Mon-Fri 2pm-6pm and weekly staff meetings
9. Position Description: Responsible for planning and implementing education and enrichment activities for the P2L Afterschool Program. Co-leader for a group of 10-15 elementary aged children. Assists in preparation and distribution of snacks. Maintains organized and accurate Afterschool records, specifically as they pertain to the programs and activities they lead. Assists the Afterschool Manager in carrying out safety procedures and CIS-HOT disciplinary policies when necessary for the program. Attends meetings and trainings. Interacts with the students as a positive role-model.
10. Skills Required: Skills: experience working with At-Risk youth, comfortable working with children ages 4-12, strong communication skills, self-motivator, creative and innovative thinker, organized, good time management skills. Prefer majors in Education, Social Work, Recreation, Fine Arts, and Non-profit Business. Other majors will be considered if they have the appropriate skills and experience. Prefer sophomore or higher classification, in good standing with Baylor University, be dependable and punctual, have reliable transportation, professional demeanor and appearance, criminal background check will be processed by the origanization.
11. Special Instructions: The P2L Afterschool program follows the Waco ISD calendar which may not match the Baylor calender. This means that the student may be asked to work during some Baylor holidays (different work schedule than the Baylor Schedule at Christmas Break, Thanksgiving, Spring Break and when the Spring semester ends). If the Spring semester ends before the Waco ISD calender ends classes, you must have federal work-study eligibilty to complete the Waco ISD calendar. You MUST have Federal Work-Study eligibilty to work this position. If for any reason you cannot fulfill the original schedule you agreed to, you MUST make arrangements with your supervisor ahead of time to be off from work. Your work schedule is critical to the students you are taking care of. If any work-study eligibilty questions, please contact any Student Financial Aid Counselor for assistance. This is off-campus employment. The Work-Study Referral form can be picked up at the Front Counter of the Student Financial Aid Office.
