BearBucks™ is an optional prepaid account available to students for purchases in many locations on campus. As of June 1, 2016, Baylor’s BearBucks program will be discontinued. Launched in 2002, the BearBucks program has provided a safe and convenient alternative to carrying cash on campus. However, this convenience and the usage of BearBucks have declined in recent years as personal debit and credit cards have become more prevalent.
Debit/credit cards are now accepted in nearly all locations that currently accept BearBucks, including the Baylor Bookstore, residential and retail dining locations, Mail Room, Game Room, and SLC front desk. Beginning Fall 2016, use of campus laundry machines will be provided to residents at no additional charge. It should also be noted that Dining Dollars will continue to accompany most meal plans and provide flexibility to your campus dining experience.
The final day to purchase BearBucks will be Friday, May 20; however, you may continue to use your BearBucks through Tuesday, May 31, and you can check your remaining balance at any time at idcard.baylor.edu.
On June 3, 2016, any unused balance in your BearBucks account will be transferred to your student account. Students enrolled in Direct Deposit with the Cashier’s Office, who do not otherwise owe a balance to the University, will automatically receive a refund by Direct Deposit no later than June 10th. As long as your student account is current after June 3rd, you may request a refund of all or a portion of your BearBucks credit if the funds are needed for meals or books. Regular refund policies will apply.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We appreciate the contributions of Baylor’s IT Services, Campus Services, and Division of Student Life which have made the BearBucks program a success for the last 15 years.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact the Cashier’s Office at (254) 710-2311 or email Cashiers_Office@baylor.edu.
