About The Renaissance Scholar Program

From Plato and Augustine, through Pascal, Shakespeare and Leonardo da Vinci, and on up to Einstein, the greatest thinkers have bridged the gap between the sciences and the humanities, technology and art, philosophy and theology.

With that in mind, Baylor's esteemed Honors College and nationally acclaimed School of Engineering & Computer Science have partnered to offer current high school juniors an integrated introduction to topics in engineering/technology with complementary readings in history, art, literature, philosophy, and theology. It's a unique opportunity for you to become...a true Renaissance Scholar.

The Renaissance Scholar Program was created to give high-achieving high school juniors the opportunity to engage academically with Baylor faculty, students and staff while earning college credit in the summer. Enroll and receive credit at Baylor University before you even start your senior year in high school!

In our program, you will:

    • Experience life as a Baylor student
    • Take a class tailored to you
    • Earn one hour of college credit
    • Get to know Baylor faculty
    • Get a head-start on college
    • Have a wonderful time
    • ...all in one week!

If you are serious about academics, earned a high score on the PSAT/SAT/ACT and have an interest in the Honors Program, engineering or computer science, this program is for you! (Applicants who have not yet taken the SAT or ACT should submit an official high school transcript.)

At the Baylor University Renaissance Scholar Program, you can embark on a journey of intellectual discovery that will set you on a path to becoming a man or woman of universal education, someone conversant with all of human learning.
