Baylor University, Truett Seminary to Host December 2019 Commencement Ceremonies

WACO, Texas (Dec. 18, 2019) – Baylor University and George W. Truett Theological Seminary will celebrate graduation of students with commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 21.

Baylor Commencement Ceremony

The commencement ceremony for the School of Engineering and Computer Science, School of Music, School of Education, College of Arts & Sciences and the Honors College will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, in the Ferrell Center, 1900 S. University Parks Drive.

The commencement ceremony for candidates for graduation from the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences, Hankamer School of Business and Louise Herrington School of Nursing will be held at 2:30 p.m.

Retired professors who will have the honor of bearing the mace are:
• Thomas Hanks, Ph.D., Emeritus Professor of English and Master Teacher, who will serve as bearer of the mace for the morning ceremony.
• Catherine Rosser, Ed.D., retired director of the undergraduate program at Baylor's Louise Herrington School of Nursing, who will serve as the bearer of the mace for the afternoon ceremony.

George W. Truett Theological Seminary Commencement

Commencement for Truett Seminary graduates will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at First Baptist Church of Waco, 500 Webster Ave. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.

Seating

The Ferrell Center doors will open 90 minutes before the ceremony starts, and seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Parking

Parking will be available at the Ferrell Center and is accessible from University Parks Drive and La Salle Avenue. Free shuttle buses will be available from the East Campus parking garage to the Ferrell Center.

Parking attendants will be available to direct parking. If curbside drop-off or handicap parking is needed, please inform the parking attendant on site.

Streaming

Live streaming of the ceremony will be available via Baylor’s commencement website.

In addition, the commencement ceremony will follow the clear bag policy.
