We are excited to announce that our transition to a new electronic I-9 system, Guardian, is underway. On February 20th we began completing new employees'
I-9 forms electronically.
All new employees (faculty, staff, and students) must complete section 1 of the
I-9 form on or before their first day of work. March 1st is the official end of our transition period, at which time all outstanding paper I-9 forms should be received by HR for conversion to electronic documents, and all newly completed
I-9 forms moving forward should be exclusively electronic.
As the requirements governing I-9 compliance continually evolve and become increasingly complex, the Guardian system will help to ensure that our I-9 forms meet all of the necessary requirements.
