Honors Program

The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future life.
- Plato, The Republic, circa 380 B.C.E.

If you want to stand on the shoulders of giants, sometimes you need a ladder and a steadying hand. Are you interested in big ideas? What you will find in the Honors Program are faculty, staff and students who are enthusiastic about learning. The Honors Program is rigorous, not limited to any one particular major, and designed to help guide you toward independent research.

We are interested in you. We see the four years you will spend at Baylor, as part of the Honors Program - one of four units in the Honors College - as a time for you to develop intellectually and personally. Faculty, Staff and Students in the Honors Program take a cooperative and collaborative approach to developing and executing innovative research projects.

If you want to find out more about the process for admission to the Honors Program, please review the information here.

Honors students are encouraged to develop their professional and academic skills by sharing original research and writing with their peers and professional colleagues. Baylor University provides Honors students an opportunity to do this at such events as Honors Week and an Annual Research Day. Along with these events, students should also explore opportunities to present their work at other conferences across the nation. A number of conferences have specifically indicated an interest in having undergraduate students participate as presenters or panelists. A list of such programs has been posted to the Honors Program website for student consideration.
