Baylor DPS Hosts Annual Joint Active Threat Training Exercise with Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies

On Thursday, May 23, 2024, the Baylor University Department of Public Safety and its branches, including the Baylor University Police Department, along with 16 other local and federal law enforcement partners and emergency responders, will conduct an annual joint active threat training exercise on the Baylor campus in and around the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation.

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado WATCH for Central Texas, including Waco and McLennan County, Texas, effective until 8p.m. CDT tonight (Wednesday, May 22, 2024). A Tornado WATCH means that tornadoes – along with damaging winds and hail – are possible in and near the watch area.

Tucker, Ph.D., The Eula Mae and John Baugh Chair in Physics, is part of a multi-institution, interdisciplinary effort to discover new materials and create innovative pathways for advancing materials performance under extreme conditions. The $12.5 million research team was funded through the Department of Energy (DOE) for the next five years.
