Baylor University's most recent facility is one that will enable the Baylor Football team to practice rain or shine -- preparing them for victory all year-round. The dedication ceremony for this facility, the Jay and Jenny Allison Indoor Football Practice Facility -- one of the finest indoor practice facilities in the Big 12 -- will be Saturday, Sept. 26, at 3:30 p.m.

The Baylor University Department of Religion will host the annual McGee Lecture Series, featuring scholars Wayne Flynt and Paul Fiddes, on Sept. 24 and Oct. 7 in Miller Chapel in the Tidwell Bible Building.

From more than 2,300 schools surveyed by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review, Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business has been recognized as having one of the top 50 entrepreneurship programs in the country. Baylor ranked No. 4 in the undergraduate category of the survey.

Sandy and Gretchen McCormack of Katy, Texas, have been named Baylor University's Parents of the Year for 2009. The couple will be honored during the halftime ceremony of the Baylor vs. Connecticut football game Sept. 19 in Waco, Texas.

Baylor University's Louise Herrington School of Nursing dedicated the Barnabas Success Center and the Diane Roose Brinkman Study Room, facilities devoted to positioning Baylor nursing students for success in their academic and professional lives, on Friday, Sept. 11. The dedication is one in a series of events in celebration of the Louise Herrington School of Nursing's Centennial.

Despite a challenging economy, Baylor University has enrolled 14,614 students, the largest overall enrollment in university history, according to official 12th-day enrollment statistics compiled by the Office of Institutional Research and Testing. The university also enrolled its second largest and most diverse freshman class.

For the second consecutive year, Baylor University welcomed to campus its second-largest and most diverse freshman class in university history, as more than 3,000 students moved into university residence halls prior to the start of the fall semester. Although enrollment isn't official until the 12th class day, nearly 3,100 freshmen are attending classes at Baylor, only the third time ever that freshman enrollment has topped 3,000.
