Undergraduate Research
For hands–on experience with theory and principles learned in the classroom, undergraduate research is a great way for you to receive early experience alongside faculty and experts in research, helping to increase collective understanding and even developing new technology.
Undergraduate Research & Scholarly Achievement (URSA)
Baylor University's URSA initiative "welcomes all undergraduates, from freshman to senior, to consider maximizing their education through a variety of research and scholarly activities found both within the classroom and beyond." Each year, URSA awards small grants to undergraduate students of all majors to conduct research projects in their field of study. You as a grant recepient would work with a faculty mentor and present at the URSA Scholars Week during the spring semester.
Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)
The National Science Foundation (NSF) funds undergraduate research opportunities at hundreds of locations across the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, in a broad range of disciplines. Through NSF's REU program, you would be able to on a research team with other students from across the country along side of faculty and professionals at the host site on unique, even interdisciplinary projects.Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarships are available to help achieve your academic goals and interests and to assist you with educational expenses. Some scholarships are awarded based on your academic performance (merit–based), while some are based on financial need (need–based). Scholarships are available to help pay your tuition as well as others to help you study abroad and participate in research projects and internships.
