Featuring 'hands-on' experiences with:

  • "Laser based spectroscopic studies in a custon-built time of flight mass spectrometer"
  • "GC/MS Analysis of Contaminants in Extreme Rare Samples: Bowhead Whale Blubber"
  • "Advanced NMR: High Resolution, Multinuclear, and Two-Dimensional"
  • "Small Molecule X-ray Crystallography"
  • "Fluorescene Spectroscopy and Dye Sensitized Solar Cells"
  • "Biochemical Chromatography/Confocal Microscopy"
  • "Probing protein structure with Mass Spectrometry and H/D Exchange"

The workshop is designed for Senior chemistry/biochemistry majors and their advisors, though exceptional Juniors will be considered. The training will consist primarily of three 3-hour small group hands-on intensive sessions (see tentative schedule). Overnight accommodations and meals will be provided.
