Dr. Beck A. Taylor, associate dean for Research & Faculty Development, announced his resignation from the Hankamer School of Business to accept the position of dean and Professor of Economics and Business at the Samford University School of Business in Birmingham, Alabama.
"Beck has made exceptional contributions at Baylor in the areas of student learning, research and faculty development," said Terry Maness, dean of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. "His dedication to his students and his peers has always been apparent. I deeply appreciate his efforts and achievements on behalf of Baylor and offer him my best wishes in his new leadership role at Samford."
Taylor will start his new position at the beginning of Samford's fall semester, in a few weeks.
"I am very excited about the opportunity to join the Samford University family," said Taylor. "Like Baylor, Samford makes clear its commitment to Christian higher education. I look forward to working with the faculty, students, and staff of the Samford School of Business."
"My eight years on faculty at Baylor have been wonderful," he added. "I want to thank Dean Terry Maness and Dr. Steve Green, chair of the Department of Economics, for their superb leadership."
Founded in 1841, Samford University is the largest independently supported university in the state of Alabama.
