Financial Services and Planning Program RecertifiedMay 12, 2005
Dr. Tom Potts, CFP, received notice that the Financial Services and Planning (FSP) program within the Finance, Insurance and Real Estate department, has been recertified for another five years beginning January 2005.
The certification enables FSP majors, who successfully complete the FSP required courses and graduate from Baylor University, to sit for the Certified Financial Planner comprehensive examination.
During the recertification process, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. reviews the instructors' qualifications, material covered and texbooks used in the FSP program to determine if targeted cognitive levels are being met.
"In 1985, the Hankamer School of Business was one of the first five Universities in the United States to be certified by the CFP Board and there are now over 200 University programs registered," said Dr. J.T. Rose, Professor of Finance, Harriette L. and Walter G. Lacy, Jr. Chair of Banking, and Department Chair.
