Business retirees and spouses of retirees were honored at a luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Hughes-Dillard Alumni Center.
“It’s fun to come back and see friends and old faculty,” said J.T. Rose, Department Chair of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate.
Terry S. Maness, Dean of Hankamer School of Business was present at the luncheon and spoke about some of the schools recent accomplishments and activities.
During the luncheon three videos were shown that gave a quick look at the business school and highlighted recent events that students were involved in. One video showcased the Edward Jones New Venture Challenge, a competition for students to develop business solutions to real business problems. The accounting and entrepreneurship programs at Baylor were also acknowledged in the videos for being considered among some of the nations’ best.
Jean Streetman came to the luncheon in honor of her husband, Vadan Streetman, who was a professor of accounting for over 30 years. Her son Lee, a fifth generation Baylor alum was also in attendance with his wife, Peggy.
“The retiree association encouraged all academic departments to have recognition for retirees in the fall, as well as the spring,” said Maness. “This is the third year for the appreciation luncheon.”
