Become a Critical Member of the Management Team

Do you think accountants spend their day behind a desk, punching numbers into a calculator? Well, nothing could be further from the truth. Today's accountants are critical members of the management team, using their vast knowledge of business, their communication and people skills, and their well-developed technical accounting skills to add value to the business through improved decision making and support. In fact, many CFO's and CEO's got their start in accounting just like Philip Knight, the founder and CEO of Nike.

Our Curriculum

Accounting

Our curriculum, accredited by the AACSB, provides not only a strong technical accounting foundation, but also develops your written and oral communication skills, teamwork skills, time management skills, and critical thinking skills. We offer BBA, Master of Accountancy (MAcc) and Master of Taxation (MTax) degrees and have developed combined BBA/MAcc and BBA/MTAx degrees to provide the required 150 hours to sit for the CPA exam in Texas and most other states. Our master's program graduates consistently perform above the national average on the CPA exam, as evidenced by their 6th place first-time pass rate national ranking on the November 1998 exam and 10th place first-time pass rate national ranking on the November 2000 exam.

Exciting Career

Whether you want a career in public accounting, private industry, not-for-profits, government, auditing, tax, consulting, large firm, or small firm, our program will give you the education you need to hit the ground running.
