Accelerate

Accelerate, Baylor University's pre-college program, gives rising high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to begin their college pursuits and get ahead on general education course requirements that will apply to a range of Baylor degrees and may transfer to other universities. Tuition and fees for Accelerate courses are offered at a discounted rate.

A variety of Summer 2022 courses will be available through Accelerate. Classes will be taught online by Baylor faculty in the supportive Christian environment that is a hallmark of a Baylor education. Accelerate students will learn alongside their peers as they prepare for the rigors of college.

Admission to the Accelerate program is competitive; college-bound rising high school juniors and seniors are expected to demonstrate an exemplary academic record with excellent GPAs of mostly As and Bs.

If a rising high school senior earns a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better while completing at least 9 Baylor course hours in the summer prior to their senior year and their school record demonstrates good academic standing throughout high school, they may be among the first students admitted to Baylor after completing an undergraduate admissions application (available each August).

To begin, students must apply to Baylor via the online application, here, and complete all the steps in the application process. Once accepted, an academic advisor will work with each student to select the courses that set them on a path to success.

Accelerate also offers a year-round program where college-bound high school juniors and seniors may take courses in fall and spring. Once a student is accepted to Accelerate, they may continue to take classes until they graduate from high school. The list of Fall 2022 Accelerate courses may be viewed here.
