Baylor's commitment to provide an academically sound and integrated education has placed the school at the top of its class. According to a study on general education requirements conducted in April by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni, Baylor is the only school that meets the highest criteria.
Malaria, typhoid and HIV positive students were the challenges Linda Barany met on a daily basis as a school nurse in Uganda and Kenya. "It was nursing on the fly. In Africa, we are expected to diagnose and treat," said Barany, who has begun training at Baylor's Louise Herrington School of Nursing.
The eight-member student-athlete assessment task force has released its recommendations on Baylor's standards and policies for the future recruitment, admission and certification of prospective student-athletes.
