Especially for Juniors

Junior and Senior students are either required or recommended to be advised according to specific majors and programs before registration for classes.

Researching - 3rd year (Junior)

Academic - Make Initial Choices

  • Choose elective courses that enhance your marketability, meet with advisor in your major to discuss options.
  • Focus on major courses, keep that GPA up! Focus on 3.0 or better.
  • Relate academics to future work plans; expand your network and contacts.
  • Attend seminars on your major, research grad schools and companies that interest you.
  • Develop resume and cover letter and have both reviewed by Career Services.
  • Apply and interview for summer internships (Opportunities arrive from January to May).
  • All candidates for degrees should file notice of intention to graduate in their respective dean’s offices during the second semester of their junior year. Failure to do this may cause a delay in graduation because of unfulfilled requirements.
