Junior and Senior students are either required or recommended to be advised according to specific majors and programs before registration for classes.
Researching - 3rd year (Junior)
Academic - Make Initial Choices

Choose elective courses that enhance your marketability, meet with advisor in your major to discuss options.

Focus on major courses, keep that GPA up! Focus on 3.0 or better.

Relate academics to future work plans; expand your network and contacts.

Attend seminars on your major, research grad schools and companies that interest you.

Develop resume and cover letter and have both reviewed by Career Services.

Apply and interview for summer internships (Opportunities arrive from January to May).

All candidates for degrees should file notice of intention to graduate in their respective dean’s offices during the second semester of their junior year. Failure to do this may cause a delay in graduation because of unfulfilled requirements.
