Changing Majors

Non-degree seeking students must apply via Admission Services to change or declare a major.

Student-athletes must see a student-athlete advisor to change or declare their major.

COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES:
Students who have earned less than 30 credit hours and who wish to change to a major and/or degree offered through the College of Arts & Sciences should see an advisor in Academic Advisement, first floor (west wing), Sid Richardson Building.

Students who have earned 30 or more credit hours and who wish to change to a major and/or degree offered through the College of Arts & Sciences should access the DATA FORM on the web using the links: Academics, College of Arts & Sciences, and Degree Plan Office or go by the College of Arts & Sciences Degree Plan Office in Room 108 Burleson.

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS:
Students who have earned less than 30 credit hours and who wish to change to a major offered through the School of Business should see an advisor in Academic Advisement, first floor (west wing), Sid Richardson Building.

Students who have earned 30 or more credit hours and who wish to change to a major offered through the School of Business should go to Undergraduate Programs and Advising in Room 106, Hankamer School of Business.

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION:
Students who wish to change to a major offered through the School of Education should go to the School of Education Advising Office in Room 100, Draper Building.

SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & COMPUTER SCIENCE:
Students who wish to change to a mechanical engineering major should go to the Mechanical Engineering Department, 200 Rogers, and see Minnie Simcik. Students who wish to change to electrical and computer engineering should see Linda Kerr, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, 304A Rogers.  Any student wishing to declare a general engineering major should see either Ms. Simcik or Ms. Kerr.

Students who wish to change their major to computer science or bioinformatics should see Ms. Sharon Humphrey in the Computer Science Department, 220 Rogers.

SCHOOL OF MUSIC:
Students who wish to change to a major and/or degree offered through the School of Music should go to Room 107, Roxy Grove Hall.

SCHOOL OF NURSING:
Students who wish to change to a major in nursing should go to the School of Nursing Waco office in Room C.107, Baylor Science Building.

SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK:
Students who have earned less than 30 credit hours and who wish to change to a major in pre-social work should see an advisor in Academic Advisement, first floor (west wing) Sid Richardson Building.

Students who have earned 30 or more credit hours and who wish to change to a major in social work should go to the School of Social Work Baccalaureate Program Office in Room 124, Speight Parking Plaza.

PRE-LAW STUDENTS:
Students who have earned less than 30 credit hours and who wish to add the pre-law designation to their record or delete it from their record should contact Academic Advisement, first floor, (west wing) Sid Richardson Building. Students who have earned 30 or more credit hours should contact an advisor in CASA (College of Arts and Sciences Advisement) at 254-710-1524 or send an e-mail message to CASA@baylor.edu with their student ID number and a brief message.
