The 2018-19 FAFSA is now availableOct. 10, 2017
Student Financial Services (SFS) would like to to remind students that the 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2018-2019 school year is now available.
Students planning to attend Baylor for the upcoming year and haven’t recently filed a FAFSA are strongly encouraged to do so. Students could be missing out on several types of financial aid including grants, need-based scholarships, federal work-study, low-interest student loans and more.
To file, go to www.fafsa.gov and log in to create a new application. Before beginning, students should gather the following information:
- FSA ID,
- 2016 income tax return
- parent’s 2016 income tax return if you are a dependent
It is highly recommend that students use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on the FAFSA which makes it easy to directly import tax data into the application.
Resources on the SFS website can help students along this process and are always welcome to call the office at 254-710-2611 if they need some help.
As a reminder, FAFSA results received prior to February 1, 2018 will be given priority consideration for financial aid. Those received after this date will be considered for aid based on availability of funds.
Students graduating in May or August 2018 can disregard this reminder. Otherwise, students are encouraged to check their Baylor e-mail frequently for important updates after they file your 2018-2019 FAFSA.
