First Generation Assistance in Internships and Networking (GAIN)
The First Generation Assistance in Internships and Networking (GAIN) program provides resources to first-generation college students to help ensure their professional success. These internship positions offer first-generation students the ability to gain real world experience while also providing a dedicated mentor in, or related to, the students desired professional field. Students also attend professional development events and training as part of the On-Campus Internship Program (OCIP) to ensure success. All GAIN Interns are paid!
The program was created in 2016 as part of the On-Campus Internship Program and since then, we have created over 60 GAIN internship opportunities. All GAIN internships vary by semester. New internship opportunities are created every semester to assist first-generation students' interests. We currently place interns in administrative and academic departments.
GAIN internships are part of On-Campus Internship Program.
To apply for GAIN internships, log into your Baylor Handshake account and search for "Baylor On-Campus Internship Program." All internship positions will have GAIN in the title.
