Scholarship: Bill Thomas Accounting Schp
Information: The Dr. Bill Thomas Endowed Scholarship Fund in Accounting was established in 2011 by Jay A. Brown, Don E. Childress II, Todd A. Reppert, and Brett P. Treadwell of Houston, Texas in honor of their mentor at Baylor University, Dr. Bill Thomas. Dr. Thomas earned a B.B.A. in accounting from Baylor University in 1969, an M.B.A. from Baylor in 1971, and a Ph.D. in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin in 1978. He became a Hankamer School of Business faculty member in 1971. He was received the Outstanding Faculty Member Award for the Executive MBA program in 2000, 2001, 2007 and 2011. Dr. Thomas serves as both technical accounting and auditing editor of Today’s CPA, the journal of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Jay Brown is the CFO of Crown Castle International Corp. and graduated from Baylor University in 1995 with a B.B.A. in accounting. Don Childress II is vice president at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and graduated in 1991 with a B.B.A. in accounting from Baylor University and from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 with an M.B.A. in finance. Todd Reppert is president of the Main Street Capital Corporation and graduated from Baylor University in 1991 with a B.B.A. in accounting. Brett Treadwell is managing vice president of finance at AmREIT and graduated from Baylor in 1991 with a B.B.A. in accounting.

Minimum GPA: The University requires a minimum GPA of 2.50; however, individual departments may have more stringent academic requirements.
