Info for Graduating Students

Greetings soon to be graduate!

We are excited to be days away from the LHSON Pinning and Recognition Ceremony. Please know the information below so we can have a smooth ceremony. We also encourage sharing this information with your guests.

Ceremony Details: Pinning & Recognition Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 12 at Sunnyvale First Baptist Church (3018 N. Belt Line Road, Sunnyvale, TX).

General Information

  • Students and guests should park in the rear of the building and enter through the double doors on the back side of the building. Individuals with accommodation needs should use the covered drive on the front side, where a staff member will provide assistance. 
  • Backpacks are not permitted inside the sanctuary but diaper / camera bags are allowed.
  • For those unable to attend, LHSON will livestream the ceremony through Facebook Live. You will find the livestream at www.facebook.com/BULHSON. It will show up when the ceremony starts.
  • The Baylor Bookstore will have a pop up shop before and after the ceremony for you and your guests to shop.

Information for Students: 

  • Undergraduate Students: Students participating in the LHSON Pinning & Recognition Ceremony are expected to attend rehearsal at 9:20 AM on Friday, May 12th in the sanctuary.
  • DNP Students: Students participating in the LHSON Pinning & Recognition Ceremony are expected to attend rehearsal at 9:50 AM on Friday, May 12th in the sanctuary.
  • Students will have the opportunity to grab lunch between rehearsal and the ceremony.
  • Students need to return by 12:45 PM to Sunnyvale First Baptist Church (3018 N. Belt Line Road, Sunnyvale, TX).
  • Undergraduate Students: Students will gather in the “Lighthouse”, which is down the hallway to the right of the sanctuary. It serves as a “Prep Room” and a place where you can leave belongings during the ceremony. We will have the room locked during the event but items are left at your own risk. 
  • DNP Students: Doctoral students will have a “Prep Room”, which will be down the hallway to the right of the sanctuary. There you can put on your regalia and leave belongings during the ceremony. We will have the room locked during the event but items are left at your own risk.
  • Philanthropy, First-In-Line and Veteran cords / stoles can be picked up from the Student Services desk during business hours through Thursday, May 11. Items not picked up will be available during rehearsal for final pickup.

Information for Guests: 

  • Guests should arrive after 12:45 PM as the doors will not open before that time.
  • Guests are welcome to take pictures but may not use flash photography as it will interfere with the livestream and other participants.
  • The ceremony is a professionally-focused event. Guests should be mindful of their behavior appropriate to the occasion. In addition, we request cheering and clapping be held until the end of names for the track.
  • For guests with young children, the church has given permission to use its playground provided they are supervised by an adult.

Pinning & Recognition Ceremony Dress CodeParticipants are expected to dress appropriately for the ceremony to be able to participate. Be sure to bring all components of your graduation regalia (robe, hood, cap, etc.).
