Tanya Sudia, R.N., Ph.D.

Dr. Tanya Sudia has a Ph.D. from Emory University in Educational Studies (Leadership); M.N. from Emory University, in Nursing and Education (Dual Major - Pediatric CNS & Nursing Education); and B.S.N. from the University of Akron in Nursing.
Dr. Sudia has more than 30 years of experience in higher education, administration, nursing, and health care research. Her responsibilities at LHSON provide the nursing school with research and teaching. In addition, some of her many contributions include: developing and implementing policies and processes that promote and enhance research; mentoring and assisting faculty as they develop research programs; providing support and resources for faculty and student researchers including proposal development; grant administration and regulatory oversight.
She joined Baylor in September 2014 from Mercer University Georgia Baptist College of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia where she worked as a Professor (Tenured) and provided significant leadership within the PhD in Nursing Program and administration activities of the graduate programs, including several years as Chair of the Graduate Programs Committee. Prior to that, she worked in a variety of leadership roles at Emory University: Director, Institutional Review Board (IRB) office; Acting Senior Director, IRB & Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Office; University Research Subject Advocate; Faculty Associate, Center for Ethics; Vice-Chair, IRB; and, undergraduate and graduate faculty positions in the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sudia has been active in various professional organizations and recognized with distinction in her field. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi; Omicron Delta Kappa, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
