WACO, Texas (Aug. 29, 2019) – This week, Baylor University will host guest speakers in a variety of academic disciplines, from professional selling and entrepreneurship to environmental science and music. The university also will feature an art exhibit from now through Oct. 6. In observance of Labor Day, classes will not be held and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2.

SUNDAY, Sept. 1

"Emergence: Art and the Incarnation of Space" - Martin Museum of Art is hosting the exhibition "Emergence: Art and the Incarnation of Space" through Oct. 6, located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave. The exhibit is free and open to the public. WEDNESDAY, Sept. 4

Chapel Highlights - Jimmy Dorrell, co-founder and president of Mission Waco and Mission World, will speak during Chapel services at 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m. in Waco Hall, 624 Speight Ave. Dorrell, who received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor in 1972, is a senior pastor of Church Under the Bridge and part-time lecturer in the philanthropy and public service program in Baylor’s Honors College. Professional Development Program Speaker - Joanne Moretti, founder and CEO of JCurve Digital, will speak to students at 5 p.m. in Room 250 in the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation, home of Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business, 1621 S. Third St. Moretti is a recognized advocate for women in business and women in STEM and helps clients bridge the gap between digital transformation and commercialization to drive sustainable growth. Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation speaker - Zach Morrow of The Flourish App will speak to students at 4 p.m. in Room 118 in the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation, home of Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business, 1621 S. Third St.Morrow, who received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor in 2018, is co-founder of Flourish Change, an organization that helps nonprofits maximize their fundraising. THURSDAY, Sept. 5
