About the Office of Student Life Assessment

Introduction to the Office of Student Life Assessment
The Office of Student Life Assessment (OSLA) headed by the Assistant Director for Student Life Assessment & Planning works with professionals in Student Life areas and departments to facilitate and encourage divisional assessment. The office’s responsibilities include facilitating the Student Life Assessment Committee (SLAC), annual departmental assessment projects, and periodic departmental reviews using the Council for the Advancement of Standards (CAS) self-assessment guidelines. Responsibilities also include assisting area deans with the annual area Judicial Stewardship/Institutional Effectiveness (JSIE) reports that are used for accreditation purposes.

The Office of Student Life Assessment is in the Student Learning & Engagement area of Student Life, under the direction of Dean Jeff Doyle.
 


Mission                 
The Office of Student Life Assessment provides leadership in assessment and planning to the Division of Student Life while serving as a capacity builder to increase Student Life professional’s assessment knowledge and skills, thereby maximizing program effectiveness and student learning.
 


Vision   
The Office of Student Life Assessment will facilitate the continuing development of a culture of evidence within the Division of Student Life wherein insights from meaningful assessments guide improvements that enhance student learning.
