Ph.D. Candidate, English, Baylor University
I enjoy getting to know students! Going on the Guatemala trip last year was especially fun. I got to hear all about students' lives, fears, passions--along with their fun quirks and senses of humor. It's also great to watch people step up into leadership roles and help them make their visions come to life in events and programs. Overall, I love walking and laughing alongside of people, hearing about their lives, and seeing them grow.
I'm a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the Baylor English Department and also serve as the Graduate Writing Center Coordinator. I love art--I'm a member of the Waco Calligraphy Guild and do handlettering and watercolor painting. I'm also a huge fan of hiking or hammocking in Cameron Park, and I enjoy traveling and going to concerts. You can find me drinking sweet tea 80% of the time.
I can't think of one specific book, but my views on community and calling have been shaped over time through discussions, readings, prayer, and investing in my own communities. Dietrich Bonhoeffer and N. T. Wright come to mind.
