Hiring Fall Student Workers

Student worker hiring is now open for Fall or Academic year 21/22 in Ignite. We encourage hiring managers to submit hires as soon as possible, but the deadline to submit hires is August 6 for an August 23 start date. Currently, there is a two week processing timeline.

Help us succeed! If you know your student has never worked for Baylor before, remind them to bring their authorized documents to Waco before arriving on campus. This will help achieve the expected start date and stay in compliance with the IRS.

The following authorized documents will be accepted. All documents must be original. No copies, pictures, or faxes.

  • Passport
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate

Updated Process

Starting with the new Academic Year, we are changing the end of semester and academic year rehiring process and will no longer require an end date when a student is hired.

What does this mean?

  • If you hire a student and intend for them to work consecutive academic years in your office, you will no longer need to rehire them at the start of the new year.
  • You no longer need to notify Student Employment before each semester when a student will continue working unless their hours worked or wages change.
  • There's less time with administrative forms and more time to manage your students, budget, and departmental needs.
  • Access to time cards will remain in place for students until you have notified Student Employment that a student is no longer working in your office.
