Kathy is seen as an ethical and visionary leader who leads with finesse, professionalism, and strength. She manages her team's gifts wisely while also getting into the trenches of daily work to get the job done. Kathy's colleagues said that she is a reassuring and expert leader who adapts to change with a desire to lean in and develop sustainable strategies to end hunger. Additionally, she possesses in depth knowledge of the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, its history and initiatives, which as been invaluable to her team. It is clear that she is committed to the mission of BCHP and to the mission of Baylor.

One colleague said in their nomination, "She has thought creatively about how to support a team that worked nights and weekends for children in rural America while also navigating a pandemic themselves."
