VETS Program

VETS (Veteran Educational and Transitional Services)

Program background-

The President's office is pleased to announce a new initiative to recognize and support veterans attending Baylor. Established last semester, the mission of VETS (Veteran Educational and Transitional Services) is to promote the academic success of student veterans at Baylor University. Part of the Paul L. Foster Success Center yet located in the Army ROTC facility, the VETS office is staffed by Dr. Janet Bagby, the VETS Coordinator, and Ms. LaNette Thompson, the VETS Transition Coach. See VETS Center page for more information.

Calling all faculty/staff who are veterans or have family members serving in the military!

VETS offers a transition course for new student veterans and ongoing support for all student veterans. Currently about eighty student veterans are attending Baylor, with many having recently returned from deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the goals of the VETS program is to connect our student veterans with Baylor faculty and staff who are veterans or who have immediate family members currently serving in the military. If you have a military affiliation or a family connection, please email Janet Bagby at

Thank you for your ongoing support of student veterans on our campus.
