Academic Action Plan

To complete your Academic Improvement Plan required by your Dean’s Office please complete the following steps:

  • Step 1 – Refer to your Degree Audit in Bear Web for most current earned credit hours and GPA.
  • Step 2 – Complete the Academic Self-Assessment.
    • Consider the courses in which you had the most difficulty.
      • What obstacles did you face in understanding course material?
      • How many absences did you have in the course?
      • What resources were available for assistance?
    • Use the Academic Self-Assessment to think about new study habits and techniques that you will employ in the coming semester.
  • Step 3 – Complete the GPA Worksheet.
  • Step 4 – Complete a Tentative Weekly Study Calendar to help you plan for when you will study for your courses during the upcoming semester.
  • Step 5 – Complete the Academic Action Plan.
  • Step 6 – Contact Mrs. Amber Thompson, Program Manager for Academic Resiliency, by email at
    • Required: Attach in your email to Amber Thompson the following completed documents - Academic Self-Assessment and Academic Action Plan.
      • Completing the GPA calculation worksheet and the weekly study calendar will assist you in completing the Academic Self-Assessment and Academic Action Plan. The Academic Self-Assessment and Academic Action Plan are required documents by your Dean's Office. 
    • Amber Thompson will reply to you via email regarding suggestions for academic strategies and resources based on your responses on the Academic Self-Assessment and the Academic Action Plan.
