Who Should Major in MIS?
The Information Systems and Business Analytics major is designed for students who are interested in both information technology (IT) and business who desire a career in IT management.
As an MIS major, you will receive a solid grounding in both information technology and business. Upon graduation, you will understand how to integrate information technology solutions and business processes to meet the information needs of businesses.
MIS Course Plan
The MIS course plan is taken as part of the Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
BBA Core
Forty-eight hours from the BBA Core form the basis of business knowledge for MIS majors. The core forms the foundation for all business majors at Baylor.
MIS Major Courses
MIS majors take 18 hours of Information Systems classes designed to provide specific technical knowledge in such areas as:
- Programming
- Database
- Networking
- Systems analysis and design
- IT project management
- Cyber security
These classes form the basic technical knowledge that will enable you to understand the relevant technical aspects of how information systems are designed, developed and deployed.
