Dr. Jillian Clare Kohler is an assistant professor at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. Her research and teaching are focused on global pharmaceutical policies, with a particular emphasis on the politics of intellectual property rights in the pharmaceutical sector. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, she worked on pharmaceutical policy for UNICEF, the World Bank and the WHO. She has also consulted for national governments, international organizations, and aid agencies on pharmaceutical policy issues, including corruption, drug regulations, and reimbursement policies. She is the author of numerous journal articles on pharmaceutical policy and co-editor of The Power of Pills: Social, Ethical and Legal Issues in Drug Development, Marketing and Pricing Policies (2006). Dr. Kohler is a member of the World Health Organization's Global Advisory Group on Good Governance for Medicines and is a Board Member of Transparency International, Canada. She holds a PhD from New York University.
