Ian (Yen Ming) Liao is CEO and General Counsel of Aditum Pharmaceuticals, based in Orange County, California. He is an international attorney whose practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and cross-border technology transactions, frequently involving transactions between the U.S. and China. He has represented public and private companies in mergers, asset acquisitions and divestitures, and equity purchase transactions.
Mr. Liao has substantial experience with M&A transactions in the internet/e-commerce space. He also has substantial experience advising venture capital funds in fund investment activities and advising high-tech companies, including start-up and pre-IPO stage companies, in fund-raising activities. In addition, he has represented clients in a number of cross-border technology licensing and intellectual property enforcement matters.
For about three years, Mr. Liao served as a partner in the Shanghai and Orange County offices of K&L Gates. Before that, for about 15 years, he served as a partner at Jones Day in their Shanghai and Beijing offices. He also served as an associate at a law firm in Taiwan and a summer extern for the Federal District Court of Hawaii. He is a member of the California State Bar Association and the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.
Mr. Liao earned his BBA in economics and international business and his law degree from the Hankamer School of Business and the School of Law at Baylor University.
