Alice Muncy joined the Accounting & Business Law Department as an assistant professor in fall of 2020. She teaches Advanced Managerial Accounting.

Muncy graduated from Georgia State University with a doctorate in accountancy in May 2020. She is a trained behavioral researcher with an emphasis in the experimental research methodology. Her main research interest is in managerial accounting—specifically focusing on management control systems and compensation. While at Georgia State University, Muncy taught in the areas of financial and managerial accounting. In addition, she has her bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Valdosta State University.

Prior to academia, Muncy worked for a national CPA firm, auditing government and not-for-profit organizations. Working in this area gave her an interesting perspective on the internal processes of large, complex organizations, as well as smaller, rural healthcare providers. While at the firm, she earned her Georgia-issued CPA license.

Muncy grew up in South Georgia but moved to Atlanta shortly after college, where she stayed for almost eight years. A big part of her life in Atlanta revolved around her church small group and she looks forward to finding a church home here in Waco. Muncy enjoys traveling and spending time with family. She is an avid horseback rider and moved here with her 23-year-old mare named CT, as well as a few other pets.
