Responsibilities include administration and teaching course in area of expertise. Other duties include the leadership of an undergraduate program with twenty-one full-time faculty and interfacing with the Martin Museum of Art and Allbritton Art Institute. Record of successful professional achievement and ongoing professional/creative research expected.
Candidates may specialize in studio art or art history with an excellent record of scholarly achievement and administrative expertise. The successful candidate will be a nationally or internationally-recognized artist/scholar/designer and committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Willingness to seek external funding to support faculty research is desired as well as the ability to develop new strategies for building collaborative relationships in a productive undergraduate community. M.F.A. or Ph.D. required. Administrative experience at a college/university.

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in woven, non-woven and surface design fiber-based studio courses and foundation 2D design as needed. Provide students with an overview of fabric/fiber historical and contemporary traditions as they relate to design assignments. Maintain fabric design studio. Participate in curricular development of the BA/ BFA program.
Candidates should hold the M.F.A. in Fabric Design and/or Fibers. Commitment to excellence in teaching and to fiber arts as evidenced in professional and student work. Establish and maintain an international and national exhibition record based on creative research. Participate in relevant professional activities. Provide service to the department, college, university and community. College/university teaching experience beyond TA desired.
