Tenure-track Assistant Professor full-time faculty position in vibrant undergraduate Art & Art History department.  Successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses (intro through advanced levels) in studio ceramics with an emphasis on the design, fabrication, and resolution of hand-built and wheel-thrown ceramic form. Candidate should embrace both traditional and contemporary technologies, have ability to teach a 3D Design course (if needed), be knowledgeable of safe studio practices, have prior experience with ceramics equipment, and supervise a lab technician and student assistant.

Qualifications

M.F.A. in Ceramics. Commitment to excellence in teaching and to ceramics as evidenced in professional work. Ongoing professional/creative research and active exhibition record required. Ability to seek external funding strongly encouraged to support research. College/university teaching experience beyond TA recommended.

Tenure-track Assistant Professor full-time faculty position in undergraduate Art & Art History department. Successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Fiber Arts studio; teaching a range of courses in non-woven structures, surface design, and loom and hand-woven textiles. Ongoing professional/creative research and strong exhibition record is required.

Qualifications

M.F.A. in Fiber Arts. Candidate should be a committed artist and educator with knowledge of contemporary and traditional fibers practices wishing to work in a thriving undergraduate Art and Art History department. Candidate should provide evidence of successful teaching and fibers-centered studio practice in professional work. Ability to seek external funding strongly encouraged to support research. College/university teaching experience beyond TA recommended.

Collections Manager, Martin Museum of Art

What We Are Looking For

The Collections Manager assists the Martin Museum of Art Director with the conservation and maintenance of all art collections managed by the Martin Museum of Art, and work with the Office of Internal Audit with the research and management of artwork on campus. Duties also include inventorying, organizing, and cataloging objects and documents in the collections, and preparation and display of collections.

A Bachelor's Degree in Art, Art History, Museum Studies, or a related field; one year of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required.  A Master's Degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and maintain all aspects of collections care 
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for collections care and management  
  • Assist patrons with inquiries and requests 
  • Provide scholarly and professional services to external audiences  
  • Provide technical, design and maintenance input into collections  
  • Promote and market University collections  
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission  
  • Ability to comply with University policies  
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
