BaylorAlert: Enhancing Student Safety

Baylor University is committed to your student’s safety. Among the many resources offered by Baylor’s Department of Public Safety (DPS) to keep our campus safe is BaylorAlert. Through BaylorAlert, students, faculty and other subscribers receive timely information via their cell phones, emails, on-campus phones and more. Most students have opted in to BaylorAlert on their cell phones, and should if they have not already. Many parents choose to receive these alerts as well.

BaylorAlert is designed to allow the university to communicate important information to the entire campus community. In the case of an emergency or campus safety issue, subscribers receive a description of the issue or threat, a location or general area of the event in question and instructions for how to proceed.

If you would like to receive this information as well, your student can help you sign up. Students can click here for instructions on opting into BaylorAlert, and add a parent as an Alternate Contact. Alerts are also available on Twitter, @BaylorAlert. If you have a Twitter account, text “follow bayloralert” to 40404 to receive updates as a text message.
