Work & Education:
Karen Holub has taught at Baylor LHSON for over 13 years. Currently, she serves as Senior Lecturer. Karen Holub received her Masters Degree from Texas Woman’s University and her BSN from the University of Texas School of Nursing at Galveston. She has practiced maternal-child nursing for 22 years, with experience in Labor and Delivery as well as Pediatric Intensive Care. Karen has been Staff Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Educator. In addition to faculty responsibilities Karen practices maternity nursing in the acute care setting and is an instructor for AWHONN's "Fetal Heart Monitoring: Principles and Practice" program.

Committees & Organizations:
At the LHSON, Karen Holub has participated in many university committees and organizations. These include being Undergraduate Curriculum Committee Chair, the Chair of Committee on Committees, and the Chair of Faculty Organization. She is a member of The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) and Sigma Theta Tau. She is also a member of The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal.

Presentations:
Karen Holub has also given many presentations on perinatal risk factors and fetal heart rate monitoring. She has contributed chapters to Foundations of Maternal-Newborn and Women’s Health Nursing, 6th ed. These chapters are titled “Processes of Birth," “Nursing Care During Labor and Birth," and “Postpartum Maternal Complications." She has also contributed to Maternal-Child Nursing, 4th ed.
