India has been calling Heather Herschap for more than four of the 10 years she's lived in Waco. The George W. Truett Theological Seminary graduate uses a wheelchair and has limited use of only one arm because of cerebral palsy. But despite those obstacles, she is still determined to achieve her goal of serving a year among the handicapped of Bangalore, India's third-largest city.
Louis began Truett in the fall of 2001 as well as pursuing both duel degree programs in Social Work (Masters of Social Work) and Counseling (Masters of Education). Louis says, "I came here and loved it. And loved the program and loved everything that I was doing."
Dr. Randy Wallace, pastor of First Baptist Church in Killeen, earned his Ph.D. in ministry from Baylor University recently. Wallace, who has been First Baptist's pastor for the past eight years, had planned to go into his father's repair business after he graduated from high school. Battling dyslexia, Wallace said college was the farthest thing from his mind, until he felt a calling to the ministry. Earlier this year, more than 20 years after earning his bachelor's degree in religious studies, Wallace earned a doctorate from Baylor University.
